Mozilla Web Developer Extension

I think this Firefox Web Developer extension is invaluable. Of particular use is the single click 'Clear Cache' function under miscellaneous. There are bundles of useful functions allowing the user to disable page elements, show hidden fields, display image dimensions etc.

Locate You

I was the main developer responsible for all Cold Fusion development of this live vehicle fleet tracking system. My role helped see the system grow from proof of concept to fully fledged commercial entity which now integrates with the Vodafone SMS (short message service) systems.

To view a demonstration of Vodafone Locate You, simply go to www.locateyou.co.uk and enter the following details:

Tourism Maps

Technologies used
  • Cold Fusion MX cfcs and web services
  • Flash MX Professional 2004
  • Action Script 2
I was lead developer for this Rich Internet Application, programming in Cold Fusion and Flash MX Professional. The Flash application overlays location coordinates onto a map of New Zealand. Once drawn, the map provides the user with extensive tools to plan journeys, providing both travel distances and times as well as destination information.

Cold Fusion web services were used to connect to a Postgres database whilst a combination of standard Flash forms and custom interface were used to collect user input.
